This week in third grade was all about "Giving Back to Braintree". Our theme started us off with a discussion Monday afternoon about what it means to give back. The students came up with some great examples about how we could do this; planting trees, donating clothes or canned foods and even volunteering our time to help others. We also talked about who we should give back to and why.
We spent our afternoons crafting decorations for an upcoming holiday party thrown by a local restaurant for a charity. Since the restaurant and it's staff are donating their time, location and food for this charity, we thought we could help decorate the space a bit to bring some more holiday cheer!
Overall, this theme really helped us to remember what we each have to be thankful for - and just in time.
Happy Thanksgiving!
