Welcome back!
Hope everyone enjoyed their summers and are settling back into their routines :)
Here in third grade, we've spent the past week and half learning about our new classroom routines, expectations and all of the fun things we've got planned for the upcoming weeks.
We've been getting to know each other and our environment, as some children are new to BASE. We've started a basket of time capsules, where the students have included things such as self portraits, personal goals, and places they'd like to visit. We're going to continue to add to these, and come June, we'll be able to open them up and see how much we've all grown!
This week's theme was Team Building, so we spent a lot of time as a group doing different challenges and activities. In the gym we did a hula hoop team challenge as well as played "doctor-spy". Back in the classroom, we created a human caterpillar where the goal was not to let the balloons drop as the kids walked around the classroom. We also used string tied to a marker between two people to try to write something together - quite the challenge!
We'll be posting weekly, so please be sure to check in to see what we've been up to in third grade!
